Hey 50 concerning that 6mm 107 Sierra/3500 fps combination-- Did u take any game with it at long-range, and if so what kind of terminal ballistics did u experience?

SS,

The only game I have ever shot with that rifle are rock chucks as that is what it is built for. I have hammered dozens ofchucks past 500 yards with my longest one chot kill being at 1055 yards.

I will tell you that on this size game, 15 to 20 lbs, when the range is stretched to +800 yards, I better get a head shot or the chuck will get down his den.

The 107 Mk just does not open up much on this size game at those ranges.

I would say it would perform better on larger game that provide more resistance to the bullet as penetration would certainly not be a problem on game up to the size of deer.

It os only lacking frontal area for the smaller game like chucks. The A-Max would be much better but it will not handle the velocity of the 6mm-284 whereas the Sierra will.

Good Shooting!!

50
