I only have experience with two wildcats, 338-06 Ackley Improved and 30 Herrett. I recently acquired a Contender G2 carbine from a friend’s estate. It is chambered in 6.5x50R Bellm. I have ammunition formed from RWS 5.6x50R Mag and new brass. I also have is pet load recipe. I have dies that he labeled the box as for the Bellm, but are 6.5 TCU dies. I can’t see where these dies could be used to resize this brass. For those that reload this cartridge what dies do you use? Where did you acquire them? Are there any good sources for others load data? I cannot find any on Ammoguide or load data sites. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Paul H posted this in respect of the 6.5x50R BELLM on AR in a discussion on the various 6.5's some years ago. Note he says standard 6.5 TCU dies are used to reload the 6.5x50R BELLM.

"I haven't owned a 6.5X50R, yet but have seen one, and know another shooting buddy who has one. The case is the 5.6X50R necked up, and I'm pretty sure the shoulder is moved forward. It is improved, and then some, the neck is very short. In a 14" contender, it is the fastest 6.5mm, pushing 120's 2500 fps, which is an honest 100 fps faster then any of the other 6.5's. It also uses std 6.5 TCU dies, and one can simply get a used 6.5 TCU and have it re-chambered".

I was able to get in contact via email with Mr. Mike Bellm. He passed on the data that I needed. Also, the steps for reloading using the 6.5 TCU and 357 dies that I have. He was extremely helpful. I would be glad to pass on the information to anyone in need of it.

I will probably have a set of dies made by Hornady to make it a little easier.
