I have been hearing a number of different bullet sizes thrown about.

I understand the .222 caliber is/was designed for the M53 S&W and might be a bit shy in diameter for optimum accuracy in a T/C Contender barrel chambered in .22 Jet.

That leaves the .223 and .224 diameter bullets to consider.

What are some of the preferred bullets (diameter, weight & manufacture) of folks who shoot .22 Jet Contenders?

Thank you.

All T/C centerfire barrels - including the 22 Jet are .224 dia. This size will give the best results in a Contender. S&W used a .222 brl. same as the 22LR. This gun needs .222 or .223 size.

I shoot a 14" Coyote 22 Jet (.222 Cal) and it will drive tacks. Shot a turkey at 125yds last month.

Since Hornady makes the only .222 bullit, it made load development simple.
