I am working up some reloads for my 7-08 TC Encore Pistol with 15" barrel. My prefered bullet is 140 grain Nosler Partition SP for use on whitetail deer. I have very good experience with the Nosler bullet for rifle hunting a variety of big game using 270, 7mm Mag and 375H&H My first bench shooting and hunting experience with this gun was a 140 grain Remington Core-Lokt. I got good groups at 100 yds and had a velocity of 2500 fps. The load I have started working on is the 140 grain NP Spitzer, Winchested casings, Federal 210 primer and 41 grains of RL 15 powder. Overall Cartridge Length is 2.974" and trimmed case length is 2.028. I also used 39 and 40 grains of RL 15 but seem to have better groups with the 41 grains of RL 15, but the groups are not as good as the factory loads for the 140 grain Core-Lokts. I do not have velocity data for the reloads at this time. Any suggestions for this load, and any recommendations for others using the 140 grain NP?

Had decent accuracy using Benchmark and either 140 PTs or ABs in mine... Would also try Varget if you haven't already.

Windsongmi, My XP-100 in 7-08 LOVES these 2 loads. 139 gr Hornady CCI 200 41.7 gr IMR 4064 R-P case. Standard deviation is 7 FPS It is truly a 1/4 group at 100 If I do my job. The other one is a 130 gr Speer CCI 200 43.4 gr of IMR 4064. Standard Deviation is 9 FPS and shoots every bit as well as the 139 gr Hornady. I have taken a bear with the 130 gr Speer at 25 yards and it only went 13 yards. Velocity on the 139 gr Hornady through the chronograph was 2679 and the 130 gr Speer was 2752 on average. Well within the specs in the loading manuals.
