Boy Mike, you are covering a multitude of bases there! My bug out bag will contain my Glock 17L since I am not worried about concealed carry. 17 +1 plus some spare mags. should be a good start (or finish)!

Interesting. I have an AR 10, not sure if I am being technically correct here, but it is an AR style gun that is chambered for 308. Unfortunately while it is super accurate (sub moa out to 300 yards), it is also heavy. About 12 pounds or so! I am not sure that I will be lugging that thing around much. I have a couple of light ARs that I need to test out to 200 and 300 yards to see if they are adequate at those ranges.

I'm very happy with my P238, which is basically a 380 version of the P938. I think you will be very happy with your choice.

Mike,

two questions:

1. how many rounds does it hold?

2. how many spare mags do you carry with it?

I have one of the laser sighted Ruger 380's in my pants pocket. It leaves less of a print than my new IPhone 6+. If I am outside the house I have my Glock in a belt holster.

That said, I have no need or desire to go into transitional neighborhoods wandering around.

I prefer the more ammo per pound of 223 then then 308.

Plus the lighter weight of a 223 AR is much appreciated when on the move.

Could very well mean more food and water.

Having shot and used close to all the 308 type battle rifles out on the market. They do have there place and are useful. But if I am on foot

I'll take the lighter weight of a 223/5.56 rifle and ammo in a bug out situation.

Holds 7 one spare mag...I don't plan on extended gunfights

I am not concerned about the weight of the AR...I don't plan on playing infantry man.

You will care about the weight if you have to schlepp it (along with the magazines) over a half a mile. Unless you favor the Alamo system of (non) survival. Nice pistol, by the way.

Mike
How do you like it? I might like it better than my P238 if it works as well.
