I've been one of the last to go with the Matel Toy Glock, but got a good deal on one and well you know, had to try it out and, I'm eating crow, its a damn fine pistol in every respect, it accurate, concealable, feeds like poop thru a goose, nice trigger pull, what can I say like you never get too old to learn I suppose.

Target shooter in my club went with a 43 and a sig dot. very nice.

looks like you can make a 43 into an XL with mag extension.

They said the highest form of flattery is being copied.

There are a lot of Glock clones coming to the market.

I cannot even come close to count the number of makes models and styles of handguns I have shot.

If they work I like them.

Glocks have proven over time to be a very useful firearm.

I never liked Glocks. My son bought one in 357 Sig, I shot it but wasn’t crazy about it. Then I talked to a good buddy who’s a Game Warden and he said he preferred a Glock in 40 S&W because it’s easy to shoot, safe and totally reliable. I ended up buy a Glock 19 and found I liked it pretty well. Easy to shoot, safe reliable. Grip doesn’t fit my hand great but that’s not a difficult fix.

But what really sold me on Glocks was spending a weekend in Fayetteville, North Carolina at The Range Complex, attending a combat shooting class. Our instructors were two Delta Force Sergeant Majors, one retired the other active duty. They explained that they’d recently switched from Beretta’s to the Glock 17 for all Delta operators. They weren’t satisfied with the Beretta for their needs so conducted a trial of most combat pistols, narrowed it down to a Sig (I don’t recall which model) and the Glock 17. A heavy majority of the group preferred the Glock 17, so now all members of Delta carry Glock 17’s as their standard handgun.

I figure if the Glock 17 is good enough to be their handgun, it’d be hard to do better for this average citizen. So I bought a 17 and am surprised at how much better I shoot it than the 19. Now when I carry, it’s the 17.

BTW, I’ll never see anyone ever again who can shoot a handgun, or rifle, like those two instructors. Their speed, accuracy and consistency was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before or will ever see again.

Yes, that helps. One of our group asked the active duty operator how many rounds he had shot in practice over his career and his answer was “I’m not sure, but I know it’s a lot closer to 1,000,000 practice rounds than it is to 500,000 rounds”.

I have a 43X clone -- the PSA Micro Dagger. It feels good in the hand, points well, carries very easily and holds 15 rounds of 9. It ain't no 1911, but then it 's a case of the 1911 gets left home and the plastic gun gets carried.
