IMO, where the sign is makes no difference! When a person rents an apartment of house it become his/her home, and if legal to own firearms, he/she is allowed to have the firearm in his/her home, and to take the firearm in and out of his home, at least in Texas, now in some of the eastern states, or in California nothing would surprise me where gun rights are concerned! ..................................................................... ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith

I don't have any plans of open carry in public. I do have an inside the pants tuckable holster. I made a strap of a holster (a holster for a holster if you will)so that I can carry it outside my pants. I did carry it in public that way as my coat would be covering it. If it happened to show, it would be legal. Even though we can open carry here, we can't remove it from the holster. If you for example wanted to show someone your gun that would be illegal. I posted this elsewhere, but Duluth Trading makes Foreman Fire Hose pants that have a zipper pocket on the right hand side that is the most comfortable way to carry concealed that I have found.

Since we are allowed to carry open or concealed, it is easy to change that in a split second without removing the firearm from the holster. I carry in an inside the waist holster with my shirt out, but if I need to expose the firearm all that is needed it to tuck the shirt tail behind the handgun, or in winter open my jacket and push the jacket back showing the firearm. Many times this act alone will avoid a problem before it happens. Most perps want to take advantage of UNARMED people, it is safer that way for the perp. The fact that one shows a potential thug that he/she is armed and not willing to be robbed without some danger to the robber, is enough! I personally carry concealed all the time but there are times when the fact that you are armed needs to be made clear to potential problem people and that can be done without breaking the law now that open carry is legal as well. ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith

Allowing the wind to "tactically" blow open my vest or jacket at times, revealing the nice shiny Kimber in the shoulder or belt holster isn't threatening or confrontational, but damn sure an effective deterrent! After all, it was just the wind, it was not an aggressive or confrontational move! (can't always count on the wind, but if it's there, use it to your advantage!) Sometimes it's about avoiding being the target by staying 100% concealed ... or being 100% open. Knowing the difference is important. I think we have covered the advantage of looking non-threatening. Knowing when to look threatening is a bit more difficult. It's a commitment that you might have to follow through with!
