For those of you that carry a compact 9mm what brand/model do you carry & why did you choose it over another brand?

I carry a S&W shield in 9mm. Easy to hide, lightweight and very accurate. The only one I carry more is the Ruger LCR in 38 special. I shoot the Shield better but, the LCR is a bit easier to carry.
Yep, the Glock 19. There was a show hosted by Larry Vickers about 6 months ago comparing just what you are asking. The 19 was the choice of several experts on that show AND was their personal carry rigs, which says a lot. A combo of reliability, compactness, ease of handling, sufficient power AND firepower, ruggedness and low cost... all that combined makes it the obvious pick. I was in the same boat asking the same question at the time....I went out the very next day and ordered one. I have it with me everywhere I go and I even have it on while at home most of the time. I could not be happier with it. BTW, I happen to own like 50-60 handguns of all manner (revolvers and autos) including 6 or 7 1911's in .45acp and 10mm and several H&K's in .45, but the Glock 19 has them all beat for the reasons above. The experts on this show like Larry are all guys that have been there and done that and know the facts first hand and that was enough for me.

I only have one 9mm and it is my light carry pistol when I need something real easy to conceal. I settled on the Sig P938. I like it a lot. Accurate and easy to shoot.

off on a slight tangent: I just picked up my (3 mos backordered) Ruger LCP with Laser Green Dot Sight. Yes, it's a 380, but I carry it in a front bluejeans pocket and nobody can tell I have it. Zero Print!
I carry a Diamondback DB9. It's a 6+1 striker fired, polymer framed 9mm that's slightly smaller than the Ruger LCP. It's a great pistol for me because I'm a left hand shooter. The pistol has no external safety, but a long trigger pull. I was nervous dropping the gun in my pocket the first couple days, but that soon passed. The trigger pull while long is consistent shot to shot at 4.5 lbs.
Mine has proven to be dependable, reliable, lightweight and easy to conceal. I like it for its size and weight. Even in the summer wearing shorts, it doesn't pull my shorts down.
To me, the only drawback is because it's a polymer frame, and a sub-compact pistol, you're pretty much limited to standard velocity 115 grain rounds for the maximum load.
But so far, it's fed every different brand of ammo I've tried and will also shoot my reloads. And it's not an expensive gun for its capability. I like it.
I would consider the Sig P938 a sub-compact...wouldn't y'all???

my personal carry gun is glock 26-easy to conceal, easy to shoot. for me, it is the best overall compromise. however, if I were going to have only one personal defense handgun,i think that the glock 19 is the best overall. all of the quality guns are satisfactory. look up hickock45 on the internet.he has video tests of abt every gun on the planet.

What ever you select, make sure you have it with you. I've noticed over the years that small guns tend to get carried more and bigger guns end up back in the truck. When bad trouble is suddenly upon you a producable pocket .380 in your hand is better than quad .50's out in the parking lot.
By the way, I had a Keltec PF9 that was so light it was a bitch to shoot. The Shield is a bit bigger but much more shootable.

Sig P938 is very shootable...which surprised me when I first pulled the trigger.
