Australia Gun Buy Back Program Deemed a Failure Homicide has not gone down in Australia according to a 10 year study taken after the government put new stringent gun control measures in place and spent nearly $400 million dollars to buy back approx. 600 thousand guns. “Politicians had assumed tighter gun laws would cut off the supply of guns to would-be criminals and that homicide rates would fall as a result, the study said.
