I am thinking of coming down on holiday and do some hunting-
I would like to get information on the cost of Ammo?
to either buy it there or will it be better to bring it with me when I come
will be using 30-06 and 300 Win. Mag
any info. appreciated

Both those calibres are available here at major gunstores, at about $US12 - $US16 ber box. Probably best to get here lest Big Brother thinks you are a terrorist.

What part of the country and type of game are you going to hunt?
You will also need an international visitors firearms licence and I can email you the application form. The form has to be signed by your local police in your state in the USA and costs about $US50.00, so allow 6-8 weeks to arrange.

I guess you'll be hunting with a local or a guide.
Hopefully someone with a local firearm's licence can buy the ammo for you or accompany you to a store. I really don't know whether you are legally allowed to buy ammo with an international licence. I'd definately check it out beforehand with a gunshop in the state you intend visiting. If you tell us where you'll be, I'm some of us on this forum can give you a number of a nearby shop.

Just something to consider.
