Con, S&F.. let em know about it!

For those that don't know, the 416, 458, and 470 AR rounds are 2.55 cases off the RUM case, with a 3.35 oal.. that is basically the size of the 416 rem, 458 lott, and 470 capstick internally but the same length as a winmag

jeffe,
Delivering another 100 "416RUM's" to S&F for trimming and opening to the unfireformed 458AR today. The wait to get the rifles built and for the reamer to arrive I think may be too much for S&F.

Once the reamer and heaspace guages are in our grubby hands, and the first two (maybe more Wink) rifle's built ... then we'll probably allow the reamer to be hired out to gunsmiths. S&F and I will need to have a chat about it all.

Basically ... looking at 458Lott capabilities in a magnum bolt-faced standard length action. On a donor magnum Ruger action (easier to find then a true magnum length actioned anything)... add $650 for barrel supply and fitting ... add $150ish for dies. A relatively cheap horsepower increase given buying an equivalent 458Lott Ruger No1 or CZ550 will set you back $1500 locally.
Cheers...
Con
