For those that don't know, the 416, 458, and 470 AR rounds are 2.55 cases off the RUM case, with a 3.35 oal.. that is basically the size of the 416 rem, 458 lott, and 470 capstick internally but the same length as a winmag

Delivering another 100 "416RUM's" to S&F for trimming and opening to the unfireformed 458AR today. The wait to get the rifles built and for the reamer to arrive I think may be too much for S&F.

Once the reamer and heaspace guages are in our grubby hands, and the first two (maybe more ) rifle's built ... then we'll probably allow the reamer to be hired out to gunsmiths. S&F and I will need to have a chat about it all.

Basically ... looking at 458Lott capabilities in a magnum bolt-faced standard length action. On a donor magnum Ruger action (easier to find then a true magnum length actioned anything)... add $650 for barrel supply and fitting ... add $150ish for dies. A relatively cheap horsepower increase given buying an equivalent 458Lott Ruger No1 or CZ550 will set you back $1500 locally.
