I really want to go to Africa and hunt. I got on "world wide hunts" web site and checked out some prices
For one location, for plains game its $350 per day 1x1 (10 days) with the following trophy fees (for the game I would like to hunt, Buff would be there but I can't afford it )

Kudu-750 (shoulder mount)
Zebra-600 (rug)
Warthog-200 (shoulder mount)
Bushbuck-300 (European mount)
Baboon-40 (skull mount )

So folks thats $5390 US
Add on airfares ??

Now for you guys that have been over there, what other cost are involved in bringing your trophys home.

Bakesly,

I have a better deal in Namibia than that. I believe you've seen it. My 10 day buff hunt is a way better deal too.

Blasphemy that you looked at some other agent's website ! Curses!!!!

Work some overtime or sell the dogs, you must pay a fortune in dog food!

Forget about the Baboon - you will be lucky to get a shot at one and as far as I know they are still illegal to import into good old OZ, as are all primate, leopard and elephant parts.

You would probably get the Zebra skin tanned etc over there. Can't remember what freight costs are like so can't comment.

Cheers

Shit Sorry Ann.....ahhhh....it was a pop up.....a mate showed me.......its not my fault

Alas I don't get overtime in the RAAF, just knowing that I'm protecting the country is enough (give me the OT )

Nitro
Mate I not thinking of going, well.....for a looooooong time yet, just lurking around the sites, checking things out, thought I'd ask the question, to stir conversation. I read about the Yanks and their freight charges and WOW they can get up there. I suppose they shoot more animals and bring home more trophys and such.

GG
Knew about leopard, didn't know about Baboon. Why is that I wonder?
