I have a hunt scheduled in Aug. and want to do a few days of fishing before the hunt to see more of the country and get rid of the jet lag, besides, I'm not flying that far and stay only 5 days. Any body recommend an outfitter who would do a good job?

I have a friend who is an outfitter out of Darwin. He is in the US for the shows. I will PM you his e mails address and US phone numbers if you like.

If you want somewhere close to Darwin look for guides that fish on the Daly river or the Adelaide river. Google is your friend. I can't vouch for any as I never used them when I lived there. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Look for a guide who targets Milkfish ( available in Darwin Harbour itself) a unique fish & they tug like hell. Not terribly hard to hook........rather harder to land.

Brian of Anglers advantage offers some great day trip fishing direct from Darwin. He specialises in light gear and soft plastics. Not fresh water though. If your keen on fresh water fishing for a short trip. You can get some good fishing in the Billabongs on the west side of Kakadu National Park. This is big Croc country so keep well within the boat

Geoff Corry. Nice bloke with a huge amount of experience. http://www.geoffcorry.com I have fished with Geoff previously and will do again sometime. He does freshwater. The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.
