Forked stick just behind the head to hold it.

But as a snake can strike up to two-thirds of its body length away and if its a 6-foot, it had better be a long stick or you had better be quick.

Double barreled stick works better.

Venomous snakes have a differant scale pattern underneath.HTH

Bakes like most RAAFies has to check the arse.

Whilst I have found this discussion informative , I am a little concerned about the need to check every living creatures asshole up close . Must just be an Aussie thing .
Crocodile Dundee checked in front , not the back guys.....

So , FC , I am being monstered by a snake , how will I know if it is venomous by the scale pattern on its belly , if I havent seen a non venomous ones belly to compare ?
