Remember those things you used to play with as a kid? Well with age the pieces change so what am I still missing from the following picture

Top to Bottom; 50/90, 50/70, 45/70, 40/65, 45/70 & 45/70.

Left to Right; 22 Hornet, 50/90, 50/70, 45/70, 40/65, 577/450 & 30/30 Win.


Hold still varmint; while I plugs yer!
If'n I miss, our band of 45/70 brothers, will fill yer full of lead!

He's always had a 45/120 built on a Ruger No1,so it must be a 50/140 that's missing. Smiler

How do they compare ballistically?
Knocks you on your arse when you touch on off I'm betting.

Bullet mould arrives next week; 650gn Creedmore with 95gn FG as a starting load. Mind the old 577/450 with 80gn FFG and a 520gn bullet is no pussy either, generating 62ft lbs of recoil in a 9 lb rifle. That's equivilant to 3x303's at once through a steel buttplate on to a bare shoulder Cool

10 shots to the pound! Fark! you must be on real good terms with you local tyre balancing place....
I shoot a 45/70 from a 7lb Marlin GG and I reckon that thumps me pretty good....a dozen shots is all I need in a day.
