On a strip like that in that kind of terrain use every inch of runway available. Absolutely the right choice of touch down spot for those conditions.

Bush flying reacquires one to use sound judgement and skill to stay alive and keep from damaging airplanes. The FAR's at times will get you hurt of killed in these extreme situations.
