I’m sure many of you gents have seen the movie (1965 I think it was). Really a great film with great actors, Jimmy Stewart, Richard Attenborough, Hardy Kruger, Ernest Borgnine, Peter Finch, George Kennedy, etc. I am reading the book by Elleston Trevor. It is very good. I also read about the wreck by the pilot in the movie (Paul Mantz). I always knew he was killed landing the plane but there are some interesting details here: http://www.aerovintage.com/phoenix.htm Paul Smith SCI Life Member NRA Life Member DSC Member Life Member of the "I Can't Wait to Get Back to Africa" Club DRSS I had the privilege to fire E. Hemingway's WR .577NE, E. Keith's WR .470NE, & F. Jamieson's WJJ .500 Jeffery I strongly recommend avoidance of "The Zambezi Safari & Travel Co., Ltd." and "Pisces Sportfishing-Cabo San Lucas" "A failed policy of national defense is its own punishment" Otto von Bismarck | ||
