Flight of the Phoenix aircraft
I’m sure many of you gents have seen the movie (1965 I think it was). Really a great film with great actors, Jimmy Stewart, Richard Attenborough, Hardy Kruger, Ernest Borgnine, Peter Finch, George Kennedy, etc. I am reading the book by Elleston Trevor. It is very good.

I also read about the wreck by the pilot in the movie (Paul Mantz). I always knew he was killed landing the plane but there are some interesting details here:
