surestrikeF-3 Tornadoes I believe?
But in any case it makes me want to join the bloody RAF!!
I love the two scenes where, one the guy is looking at a map while skimming along at 500+ KIAS at less than 50' and the other where the guy is in ground effect maybe 15' off the ground changing the radio or whatever he is fiddling with there.
WOW those boys are truly the kings of low level tactical flying!
Did that map really say "roll here" ?? Are they scouting for game ??

surestrikeWell strike my last question those are definately not Tornados.
Are those Mirage F1's flown by the French?

TrapperPI believe they are French Mirage F1
Waiting on a confirmation of that as we speak.
What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! And tomorrow, we hunt some tall, tall thunderheads and go punch holes in them! What joy!
Lord, give me patience 'cuz if you give me strength I'll need bail money!!

David WI was guessing at the aircraft and location - sure looks like Africa to me! Whatever, it must be an amazing experieince to be able to fly like that. I'm a new pilot with 150 hours or so. Just bought a Cessna 177 RG and am having a blast.

surestrikeWell heck. If they'd give me one of those and an unlimited gas card I might even join the French Airforce!

What a kick in the rear...
I sent this to a buddy of mine who used to fly F-18's in the Navy. he really enjoyed it. I asked him about fighting Mirages and in true fighter jock fashion answered that "the F1 isn't enough of an airplane to be a Hornet's bitch".

Sorry but those are definately F-1's. If you look closely you will notice the elevators. 2000's have delta wings.. no elevators in the traditional sense.
Trapper..had it right 1st.
F-1's are the only example in recent times where Mirage's have strayed from the delta wing.
Nevertheless they are both outstanding aircraft for their times.

He might just think twice if he new it was a Mirage 2000 and not the F-1.
The F-1 is not a front line A to A fighter anymore but the 2000 sure as hell is and the French fighter jocks are no slouches either.
But pretty well any fighter jock will give you the same line.
His plane is always the best there is.
