Joel/AKYeah the A380 is a monster, no other words for it.
Another big one I seen lately here in Anchorage is called the dreamlifter. Basically they took the nose off of a 747 and added it to a different fusalge. The center is about 10-12ft taller than the cockpit and its a swing tail. Basically 2 main decks.
It flies fusalage parts for the new 787 to asia and gets crappy fuel miliage. I'll keep my camera with me the next time I see it at work

boom stickIs it a question looking for an answer????
It is interesting but impractical imho.
I am sure it is a verry nice plane and a work of engineering.

Joel/AKI think the cost (purchase, support and maintaining) is what will kile A380.
For cargo it would be great, but then you need to buy new ground equipment and re-inforce the parking ramps, plus the cargo loaders(most atleast) dont go high enough to reach the main deck doors. then the pushback tractors need to come into consideration. Its a big and expensive venture thats for sure.
On the plus side, on a good day we usually have 9-10 747 freighters on the deck at a time, alot of times half are coming from the same place and going to roughly the same place. get rid of some of the old whales and get a couple of A380's, carry the same load with fewer planes flying....
To me its not worth it but it is a big plane, cant wait till I see them start landing here.
