Have to wonder about the Nazi pilots bringing their birds in on American-controlled runways. Maybe they radioed their intentions? Opened the cockpits and threw arms up?

What's up with the guy with the top hat and rifle @ 1:25 in the clip? A well dressed guard?

There was obviously a lot of respect between aviators and rocketeers on both sides.

Bobster, your observation is correct, I believe. Unlike most forms of ground combat, aerial combat involves flying, and flying calls for a higher level of skill and to excel -- passion.
