Well, it beats the crap out of mine, which is made of paper at the moment. But I don't mind flying it when the weather is bad...

I sat in those, OshKosh 2012 .. too small for me, but i love the corvair flight motor movement.

sooner or later, i'll build my rv10

that same airadventure forever removed ANY Bede from my plans.. the bd4c, which i REALLY wanted to work, isn't a 4 seater.. there's not 4 "seats" in their demo plane and the main spar would decapitate me

Jeff, an Archer II is a nice aircraft. Have to admit a great admiration for those STOL birds that Opus linked to.

I need grass/unimproved strip capability and uber short takeoff and landing that can take a few bumps along the way. My use is anti-poaching and game counting in the bush. The Zenair has a pretty good reputation as robust and simple to work on. Simple is good in the bush.

The RV-10 is a slick machine for sure, especially with a 260 Lycoming up front.

There is a video on YouTube of a kid with a zenith and a corvair.. making a HARD high sink landing and just rolled away.. he's lucky his nose wheel didn't get too involved

he's a big boy.. i was thinking closer to 25 stone -- and I don't think he fully understood how fast that airship was sinking -- i have read that this is a problem with new stol pilots -- they wind up with steep "glide" slopes ...

let's face it, even with a 120lb guy in that one, it HIT HARD ... and I've seen a couple "slightly bent, no motor or avionics" stol planes for sale..

I've got about 1,000 hours in a Cherokee and an Archer II. Great airplanes to fly. The Archer makes a good, simple cross-country aircraft. With 50 gallons of fuel, your bladder and your gas tanks are ready for a break about the same time.

If you really want to ruin yourself, get some left seat time in a Bonanza.

Yep, you can always tell a Navy pilot by their glide slope. Eeker

the archer is down for now --- back to the putput --- a 68 cherokee... slow is good, i guess!! at least it lets me fly!! next week, then!

jeffeosso - I got to fly in a Sikorsky S-300 on Friday and Saturday just outside of Outjo Nam on a game count run. Was able to fly with a little handholding (my choice).

Damn slick little bird and Tom my pilot scared the crap out of me about every other minute flying between trees and at times feet off the ground going hell bent for leather. I thought a few times we would surely have a Springbok or two in the main rotor.
