Here's one that has been kinda ignored here, the Navion. There used to be a polished one on the field I flew out of, and like most polished airplanes the owner spent 2 weekends a year flying it and the remainder polishing it. But I always thought they were a pretty airplane from back when planes were built for manly men...

Pic grabbed off the web:

for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

That looks like a Navion Rangemaster. I flew one a couple of times. They are built like the Brooklyn Bridge, but struck me as a bit underpowered. I always liked the sliding canopy. On a hot day, you could keep the cabin a bit cooler while you taxiied out for takeoff.

that is a navion, likely an a but could be a b, with osborne 20 gal tip tanks and NOT a pa tail or texas patch. 40 gal standard - e185, 180 cont or 210 hp 5 min - depending

this is a rangemaster, with stock 40 gal center tank and 34 gal tip tanks

the -a -b is about 120 knot cruise, the rangemaster, g, g1 is closer to 145, but with a ip270-h 260 HP

the h model is an io520, and a little faster

they share the wing between "Canopy" models vs cabin models.

in fact, the canopy (-a, -b) models basically only share the wing/gear/controls with the g, g1, H models

the canopy is hell for stout, for weight, but the rangemaster is all that, + fries, shrimp, salad, and a baked potato
