This is a mint condition Winchester Model 70 Super Express chambered in .416 Remington Magnum. I've never fired it, and as you can tell by the pictures, it has absolutely no wear and is in like-new condition.

Weight: 8.9 lbs.
LOP: 13 1/2"
Barrel: 24"

$1,700 shipped* in the continental 48. Rifle will be shipped in an MTM hard case, fully insured.

Add $150 shipped* for 100 brand-new cases and brand-new RCBS dies.

I also have a substantial quantity of .416 solids and expanding bullets available at additional cost and will offer an excellent deal on the entire package if interested.

Let me know if you have any questions. Higher resolution pictures available on request.

*For those who haven't shipped a rifle lately, the MTM hard case is $60-70 depending on current Amazon pricing, and USPS shipping is running an average of $130 with insurance. Ammo and brass shipping separately is running an average of $40-45 for USPS ground insured. So when considering my pricing, please note that shipping costs a considerable amount these days. Thanks!

That's a great question. The G prefix started in 1971, I believe, but serial numbers continued incrementing. Serial number G161633 doesn't fit within what I'm seeing listed online for pre-'92 rifles. Does anyone know how to accurately date a post-'92 Model 70 without calling Winchester?

Winchester has been bankrupt so many times that it is hard to determine dates after 1992. Of course the famous date of redesign was 1963, a date I remember very well and I inspected every new Winchester product that I could find in the gun shops.
The G started as a result of the GCA of 1968, but they restarted the serial numbers who knows how many times after that. Which is why yours only has 6 digits.
Winchester until 1981
USRA 1992
BACO/Olin/Browning 2006
Fire in the records section.
Portugal
This is just from memory; the exact history may, or may not, be available.

Nice package and I think it was built in 1991 but I would have to do a bit of research.
No expert by any means, a real collector could probably tell by looking at it.

Nice. How does that compare with a .416 Rigby?
