During a period of temporary insanity I sold one of these a few years ago and now looking for another. Rifle needs to be one of the newer production take downs in 30-06 with the case colored frame.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Seems like most of the recent-production 1895 take-downs are in 30-40 Krag or 405 Winchester.

Plenty of non takedowns on Gunbrokers in 30-06. Appears Winchester just released some type of Texas commemorative example with a medallion in the stock.

In the realm of sales regrets, I sold an original 95 to a member here, with the Lyman peep assembly, in 30-40 for $1000.00, + am still regretting it.

that was a good buy for the buyer. I have one exactly like that still unfired, new in box and I paid about that money 15 years or so ago when I bought it. Mine isn't for sale at a price someone would want to pay. One of these days, I am going to have a 20 inch 35 Whelen front made up for it.

I sold both my 06 and 405 takedowns in 2019 in the $1400 range. I would expect to pay $1600-1700 today depending on condition, factory box, etc
