Up for sale is an original Springfield Model 1884, (45-70 Govt), that incorporates all the modification they made to this model. It was built in 1888 per the cartouche on the stock, but is not the Model 1888. The serial number is 418XXX. The stock has some dings, nothing major, and the blue and case color are great. The bore is pristine. It appears that it may never have been issued to the troops as it is in such fine shape. It is by far the best-looking Trapdoor I have seen and the new owner will be pleased. Comes with the Trapdoor tool and a leather sling. I can ship directly to the buyer as it was built before 1898.

Will ship for $2000, and this rifle is worth every penny. No electronic payments or trades and Lay-A-Way is available. Contact me with any questions and thanks for looking.

Jerry

I too have never seen one in this condition and I have looked at scores of them through the years.
This rifle is a steal at that price. Sure caught me at the wrong time or this would be mine.
