This build started out as a nice 1963 custom long-range rifle with a fat gawdy looking stock, heavy Douglas sporter barrel and a Bueller low profile safety with minor wear on the bluing. I bought a premium stock from Wenig's and trimmed it down, bedded the action and base of the barrel with Acraglass & free floated most of the barrel and applied 10+ coats of Birchwood-Casey oil with a fine rub in between filling the pores. Additional work included polishing of the metal & bolt raceway to a smooth operation, fine-tuning of the Timney trigger down to 2 pounds pull with minimal overtravel and a hot re-blue. Tim Smith-Lyon did the fine 22 LPI checkering. The bottom metal is an aluminum one that I had trimmed down and applied a black Rustoleum finish. I only took it in the field three times, one of which scored me a PA whitetail buck. Since then, it has sat here not being used. Condition is near excellent and it will shoot around 1 inch groups at 100 yards using my reloads. Recipe is included. The scope IS NOT included. The 1 inch scope rings and bases are included. NOTE: There is one scar on the cheek piece that I will repair to where it will not be detectable. Asking $1100. Face to face Cash preferred. Will ship for $59 to the lower 48. Life itself is a gift. Live it up if you can. | ||
