Les Baer older IL gun low serial # was sold as a complete Les Baer parts kit to someone and dutifully assembled. I purchased this mid 2000's and though it's accuracy far surpassed anything 1911 I've
had, the front sight was wrong, the frontstrap checkering was a bit amiss, and the finish was not great. I sent the gun to Alchemy in IL who were the factory assembly guys for Baer prior to their move to IA, and what you see here is the result. The 25 yd target shot by Alchemy speaks for itself. The gun is tight, factory BoMar adj sights, accurate, and beautiful. $1600. I would prefer a f to f on this one due to value etc. I would drive a few hours if needed. My local gunshop that would ship are 1911 fanatics and I'm sure they'd give a similar report to mine however it's a lot of $$$ and I don't want there to be any ? as to the quality of workmanship. Alchemy I'm sure would remember this gun they did a story about it on their website at the time, prior to the Caspian thing. Includes one Chip Mccormick mag, stainless, ships in Sig Sauer box if needed.

This post details the story of the above pistol. While any of this stuff is just a bunch of machined metal, the guys at Alchemy really helped me out, and though I don't feel a "connection" to this pistol, it is as fine a 1911 as you could ever want, and the humanity shown to me was inspiring.

Bevel the ejection port
Clean up the front strap checkering
Reblue entire pistol
Shot the target seen to insure accuracy
