The 6,5x57 meets nearly all of your requirements perfectly and it's the calibre I use most. IMO the long throat/bad accuracy story is a myth. All my handloads from 85 to 140 grains shoot sub MOA and a 140 grains Partition loaded to some 2800 fps performs amazingly. There are only 2 but's: If you don't reload, your choice of ammo is limited to mainly RWS and (as stated before) I too consider it marginal for driven boar. That's why I use a 338 Win for driven game and the 6,5 for all other. | |||

If you forego the the requirement for 100 grain bullets then the 7x64 Brenneke has to be the way to go. Not least due to the ammo being available throughout Europe. | |||
