Today I leave my current employer after nearly 10 years, during which time I have worked for the most insiprational person ever, and also for someone who turned out be be a very real crook.

Overall....good times.

Next stop is going to be something very different: I have bought some land and have a bunch of houses to build.

I'm ready (but sad too).

It always makes me smile when I read or hear that. It usually means someones going to pick up a half completed development site cheap in 18 month-2 years time. No more fat cat bonuses, no more creaming off the profits, no more 3-5 hours lunches at the clients expense.

You clearly have NO idea of the realities of working 11 or 12 hour days every day for 24 years. Five hour lunch? Not once in all that time.

You want to try hard graft? Try the modern dealing room where the bottom 20% get fired every single year....you have no idea mate.

If you know of any half finished developments going cheap....send me a PM mate. I'm a buyer of such projects and will pay an introducer's commission if you bring me any that I buy.

Whilst the words might not have been too encourageing they were most certainly sincere. Including the wishing you the best of luck.

11-12 hours days are the norm for a lot of people not just city traders. The annual loss of the dead wood is standard in most performance dependent working environments, its not as if they make a secret of the fact before you start.

My usual finders fee is 12.5% of the purchase price plus expenses. 2.5% payable at introduction the balance within 10 days of completion.
