how big is a normal bear, and what is considered a very big one in the area of norrbotten/västerbotten?

please specify if you are talking live weight or carcass weight.

Bull bear, above 200 kg live weight is big,

normal between 80-140 kg,

small, well 60-80 kg

sows, above 120 kg is huge,

normal between 80-110 kg

small, well yes smaller.

One thing to remember is that the very same bear will vary in weight with some 20-30% due to season and condition.

BTW a 15 year old Swedish boy shot a 215 kg bear this weekend, I wonder how he feels about taking his largest game at such early age, it will be hard to beat for him in the future.
