338winmag,

Those are excellent photos, they really capture the essence of stalking on the Hill in Scotland. It looks like you and your friends had a great time!

Where in the Highlands were you?

Regards,

Pete

Delightful pictures, how you make me long to get back to Scotland! Never hunted there, yet, but one day...
Great story as well, sorry for those of you who don't read Norwegian.

Martin

We drive 1.5 hours to north/east from Glasgow, and then we came to a small village call Killin,
it was in Killin we stay this week.
From here we drive about 30 minutes to our hunting ground, and name of this area is Glen Lochay.

Realy nice pics and great story!
When i look at this picture i feel mad, that a friend of mine wasnt "able" to "book a hunt" two years ago for us.
One day before we wanted to leave, the game owner "canceled the trip", because my friend did something wrong wit the registration ;(

Anyhow, hope you ebjoied your hunt, and hope that i will soon can "share" the same experiences and enjoy this beautifull landscape!

cheers
Konstantin

Exelent pictures & story!
What I'm interested in hearing is what was Dianas response to your complaint about having to hunt 3/1 instead of 2/1 which you paid for.

I will tell all about it when this case is finish. We have sent our
complain to Diana about their break of our agreement.
Hopefully they will give us a compensation, but like this case have been so far,
I don't think so.
Its a big different between 3:1 hunt and 2:1, because our stalker would
only have two hunters with him when we hunt. That mean one guy have to stay in the car and wait
until a deer was shot. Then it was the last shooter who have to wait in the car.
We had 5 hunting days there, and we spend 1/3 of this trip in a car.
That is not right when we pay for 5 hunting days.
But I will tell you all about this later when Diana give us an answer.

Great story Arne and welcome onboard.
I,m Seawolf from SluttStykke.com
Hopefully Diana will make it up to you.
Nobody is interested in paying hard earned money for sitting in a car ( even if its a Land Rover )when one should be out stalking the magnificent Red Stags.
Keep us posted on the outcome

Arne,

Very interesting photos. The scenery is fantastic. I would love to hunt that country.

I have a friend with the last name of Arne. His roots are from County Cork Ireland. Is Arne a common name there?

If he is any relation, I see you two both share a love of the post hunt beverage. He is also, by-gosh, the toughest son-of-a-bitch I know!

Thanks for the photos. I really enjoyed them. Lovely Scottish scenery. One day I want to experience hunting there myself.

PS How many deer were in the photograph mentioned?

Excellent photographs. I feel as though I was there with you in the wild and lovely highlands.

Scotland is a beautiful land and the hill stags are magnificent.

The saddest thing to me about Scotland was the propensity of the youngsters to drink Budweiser, when they had the darkest and blackest ferment of the water of the Gods at their command.

Truly the triumph of advertising over taste.

But I see you fought back that foolish wont of the Scottish wains--and had some good stalking besides.

Congratulations!

Dear Arne,

Congratulations, more than excellent pictures, I have the impression to be with You in Scotland. You make my heart pound remembering the good time we have in the Highlands.I read your hunting story, funny how one can understand your language with the help of English and German.
You depict wonderful landscapes, wonderful stalks. I think you forgot wonderful warm people there. I have had no opportunities to drink any budweiser but God what a reception. I never could pay a drink in any pub without having first to drink a couple of rounds offered by the Scots, serious and exhausting affair to sympathize with the Scots. Sure with Steve Ill enjoy so enthousiastic moments in UK.
My only reproach is for scotish restaurants, should You be late (later than 8 PM) no dinner.
About Diana, its not the first time I hear reproachs. I will not harass them, may be we are more aware of slip-ups from big companies than from small ones.
Many thanks, You make us dream. JB

After the hunt we have been in discussion with Diana, and it has been sent many emails in both directions.

Since we pay for 2:1 and we got a 3:1 hunt, we wanted 1/3 part of what we pay back from Diana.

Today we got the final letter from Diana, they will give us 1/3 of what we pay back, but it will only be like a credit note.
This credit note can be used for a new hunting trip to Scotland.

We are very happy for the final result of this case, and we will now order a new trip to the same place in 2006.

So now I'm............. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

I hunted Scotloand in 2003. What a magnificent hunt. Shot 4 stags. Place is every bit as beautiful as Alaska and New Zealand.

Excellent photos. I hunted Rosshire, Scotland in 1999. I only got one day in having two stalks, morning and evening. Killed a cull with a government gamekeeper in the morning and missed a 14 pointer in the evening stalk. It was actually a business trip. My scope moved 6" to the left every time I fired. Unfortunately, I guessed to the right. I only found out what happened when I got home. Griffin & Howe side mount on my Mannlicher-Schoenauer. Bummer, but the country is gorgeous. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.
