Righto Guys,

I've booked soup and sarnies for us on Friday lunch time so please try and be there by noon. If anyone needs to have rifles checked etc then lets allow plenty of time.

Meeting time is 12 noon at the hall and we can grab lunch and coffee and have the safety briefing etc before heading out.

Any last minute questions?

Rgds,
K

Kiri, it may be slightly after 12 by the time we get there. Land in Luton around 10.00am, but the time we get the baggage and hire car and get on the road, it will be 11.00am.

Should be there by 12.30pm.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

Amir will probably eat your sandwiches though, and you will be left with the Egg-mayo!!

never the less,

I am thinking of you all, have a great AR hunt.

Back in the Fatherland on business this week. So close yet so far.

Enjoy the weekend, try to not consume excessive amounts of ________ (fill in the blank), and Waidmannsheil to all.

Gerry and Winklemeister, looking forward to a full report next week.

Thanks everyone for a great weekend! Great as usual Smiler
Due to our airlines new wifi-service I'm writing this from the plane. Jonathan almost missed the flight, due to something in his hand luggage not supposed to be there. A sharp object that now earned him a new nick name."Rambo". Actually it was a guy at the gate counter who came up with it.
"Does he thinks he's like Rambo?", he whispered.

Well I leave it to him to explain further details. Actually I think he's posting pics any second.

Ok following on from Anders post,

We are now on our flight back to Oslo after a little bit of drama at the airport. I managed to forget about the blood stained hunting knife in my hand luggage Roll Eyes luckily after a thirty minute good cop, bad cop routine they let me on my way on the basis that they destroy my knife... Bugger! I had to sprint to the gate but somehow managed to make the flight in the final seconds and on the verge of a heart attack! Smiler

It was great to meet you all and I had a fantastic weekend, saw and killed my first ever muntjac plus some more Big Grin I'm already looking forward to next years trip.

A big thanks to Kiri for organising everything and also to Amir & Stuart for driving us to the airport this morning.

Pics and film to follow soon Cool

I had a great weekend, there were a few new faces which was great and most of the usual suspects - which was good to.

I managed to shoot five with one clean miss, the bullet clipped a twig and struck the ground about ten feet from a little doe. I also had one at around 200 yards with a dubious rest so I was pleased with that. As far I can tell everybody got a good share of shooting and there were plenty of deer about.

I had a good stalk on the Saturday evening. One of the keepers (Liam) put me out on a ride with instructions to stalk to my high-seat a few hundred metres away, I came around the corner to see a nice wee munty out at the far end the ride. I stalked for about 200m, with the last hundred out in the middle of the ride using a tree to block the deer's view back to me. This was the only quiet place to walk as the sides of the ride were littered with branches and leaves, you just could not walk quietly on them. I got up to the high-seat about 70m from the deer, and shot him using the ladder for a rest. Photo is below, impressive head gear or what??

I got a pass and did not have to pay for they little bugger..... Big Grin

Well it looks like a good time was had by all with some enviable trophies in the photos displayed above.

It all sounds very well behaved and mature from the comments.

I didn't realize quite what a bad influence Quiddy, Solvi and I must have been.

Or was it a case of "What happens on an AR hunt stays on the AR hunt"?

No blanks for the weekend although there were a couple of blank outings. I think the bigger problem was not racking up the trophy fees on the bucks!!

Waidmannsheil to all. Looks like a very successful weekend.

Had an opportunity to see first hand Gerry's haul "in the rough". Now the work begins for him.

Kiri, very nice buck. Only bronze???

Being in Germany, but unable to attend this festive get together - a royal bummer.

Maybe next time!

Kiri, et al .....

A huge Thank you to Kiri for the "as usual" superb organization.

Winkelmeister, George & myself had a sterling weekend at Livermere Hall. The return drive sped by as we relived the Weekend.

We had a great Crew, lotsa fun to see all the "usual suspects" and to meet new AR Weekend Nimrods as well. It seems like 3 days flies by so fast there's hardly the time we'd like to spend not only hunting but for the social pleasantries as well.

I was so consumed with hunting, shooting, gutting and relating I didn't even manage to get the camera out of my pocket. Had an absolutely superb weekend with lots of Waidmannsheil. Four tremendous trophies and giving another "lesser" good trophy Buck the pass one evening as I'd just dropped the hammer on 2 outstanding Bucks. Musta been on Trophy Overload as I rarely display that much self-control. Adding the odd Doe to the Game Bag made for lots of action every outing. Fortuneately the weather held for 2 of the 3 days (remember this occurs in the UK), our Weekend culmination that should have ended in a hail of Pigeon feathers was sadly cancelled due to; Yeah, rain!

Back to The Fatherland with Don Keene (Nevadan) visiting for a coupla days at the conclusion of his Business Trip - great to see Don again; another hapless victim to relate the Weekend's summary over a tipple or two.

dancing

Another successful & enjoyable Euro Forum AR Weekend!

Cheers,

Number 10

Thank you Kiri.
Yes, Africa is addictive to a hunter, but costly for an old retiered blue collar worker....

Have started saving for Sweden and pigs in August, but then England next year is on the list.
Really miss you guys and the mad humor Big Grin not to mention the abundance of game and the beautifull English countryside tu2
