| I seem to remember the reg's prohibit shooting from any boat under power of an engine. You can shoot I think from a stationary rowing boat or punt. I assume you could shoot from a canoe also in that case.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

| Here in the USA I've hunted geese from a canoe .That was paddling down a river.Tough to do alone but not too bad with someone to do your paddling. I did meet a hunter who shot at a deer from a canoe .Don't know his shooting or canoeing skill but he used a 7mm Magnum .Shooting of the side of the canoe he and the gun and canoe flipped over ! |

| We do beaver hunting with a canoe shooting with rifles. It has a stabilisator one one side (because it once tippad over with a rifle lost in the creek in a couple of months). |

| In Italy is forbidden to shoot from the boat when in movement. The anchored boat is considered like a barrel.

Same here in the Republic of Ireland. You may only use a boat under sail or being rowed or paddled. Although I have seen plenty[all] of gits powering across the lakes from one group of ducks to another |

| I had a fowling friend and IIRC he would anchor his boat and remove the 15hp outboard while shooting. After a couple of times of nearly dropping the motor off the back he resumed to shooting off of the island as he always had done!! K |

| Thanks Gents. So it will be out with the canoe and some decoys to catch the widgeon on the tide. But no engine will be used. I suspect though will continue to swear at them from the safety of the shore! |
