Heading to Ireland next week for a 3 day Red Deer cull hunt. Will post up a hunt report when I get back. Couldn't pass up the last minute deal, had a a free ticket with credit card miles and off season accommodations are cheap. Will be hunting the NW in Donegal.

I wish you the best. Ensure you have a deer licence and a firearms licence if you are using the operators rifle. There are no “loaners “ in this country.

Didn’t know about that in Ireland
There is few EU countries that have similar laws as no loaners but everyone seems to get around it except politicians

It seems that if hunting with a comercial operator then you can use their firearm. https://www.npws.ie/sites/defa...ators-2023-2024.docx

Yes, you can use the operators firearm. However you must have a firearms licence to use it. No buts, ifs or maybes. You must have a deer licence to hunt deer in Ireland issued by the NPWS. National Parks and wildlife Service.

You complete a “nonresident firearms licence application “ it’s available on the Garda Website. Garda are what our police are called.
