I went to the Dallas SCI show this last weekend with my wife to look for European hunts. She wants to shoot a fallow deer and I would like to hunt a true free range mouflon. We met with an Austrian outfitter and was impressed. I am leaning toward booking the hunt with him, but wanted to see if any of you all had recommendations for other countries or outfitters. Thanks.

If you want to take your wife go to Spain and hunt with Fernando Siaz. He has both free range on his property and the service iC fantastic. Pricy but worth it.

You have lots of European countries you can hunt in for a free range Mouflon/Fallow combo.
Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic are some of them.

I can reco a Czech Republic Oufitter; example, two American hunters this year shot Fallow Stag/Moufflon Ram Silver Class trophies for @ €uro 2500,-. Additional cost are accomodation (inexpensive), License Fees (inexpensive) and rental car to the area from Prague.

Incidentally given the distance you are travelling I would look at splitting the two hunts. Perhaps look at Spain/portugal for the Fallow and talk to someone like Tommo on the for the Mouflon, where you will hunt them more in their natural environment. a ten day trip should allow you to do both hunts and see some very different terrain.

I did a little research this last year and it looks like Croatia is a place that a lot of guys go. Which areas are known to have better trophy quality over the other? It would be fun to do a Spain hunt and get an ibex or 2 at the same time but I don't hear a lot about Mouflon hunting in Spain for some reason. Which are the better area to go?

I hunted fallows in croatia. They do have nice fallows and big mouflons. The country is beautiful. Other areas close by offer Chamois, Red Deer and Wildboar.
