Older manufacture - The H&H design was copied by some UK and continental makers after the patent expired, Webley & Scott apparently among them. Westley Richards made something similar (Explora, Faunetta) but, as I understand it, they favored the rifle purpose more than the shotgun purpose and weighed a bit more accordingly. My personal belief is that H&H Paradox gun strikes the best balance between rifle and shotgun. As far as new manufacture - I don't think so. At least I haven't heard of any other than H&H. Westley Richards was supposedly working on something in the 20 bore but I don't know the status of their project. .

Army & Navy made their "Jungle Gun", as well as other made some Ball & Shot guns. Lots of threads here and on other forums.

Cogswell and Harrison made something similar. A number of makers made them using WR'S system. .

Until the appearance of the Paradox, "ball & shot" guns had been either good with ball and poor with shot or good with shot and poor with ball. The Paradox was such a great success because it did so well as BOTH a shotgun and a rifle - paradoxically. So, when the man said comparable to the Holland's Paradox I immediately discounted numerous and various general "ball & shot" guns and designs that appeared before the Paradox patent expired. Again, I focused on the word comparable ("...other comparable firearms out there?"). Londonhunter, did I misinterpret the question? .

Perhaps you mean the RBL PROFESSIONAL 20ga. Sabot Slug Gun. It has fully rifled barrels and is designed to shoot 20 gauge slugs. .

Has anyone tried one of those RBL's?
