FYI - both leucistic and albino red deer have been known from North Cornwall and West Devon for some time. I have also heard of leucistic roe in an area not far from the approximate location of the stag that is the subject of this story.

THere are a few white Fallow kicking about in Sussex. In some places they are very common. The guys tend to not shoot them too heavily as they are a bit more vizible and give their mates away in low light.
I'd like to shoot a nice white buck as I tink it would make a nice mount.
There were a few white fallow on the ground I shoot a few years ago. We took them out for the same reason as 1894 - they were attracting unwanted attention.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....
