October the 21, I am going Alpine Chamois hunting, my first.
Will fly to Ljubljana and be picked up by the guide.
But, I have some time in the city, any good hunting store to visit? Will stay a night and have a day to look around in the city before going home.
Interesting to se if I can find some traditional hunting clothes, loden.

Have a good day.

Fanzoj from Ferlach has a Showroom in Ljubljana http://www.fanzoj.com/de/showrooms/index.html . But Ferlach the famous Gunmaker Town in Austria is only 70km away. Following prominent Riflemakers have Workshops there : Hauptmann, Hambrusch, Hausmann, Scheiring, Fanzoj, Hofer, Glanznig, Just etc.

Norway Moose Hunter - mboga biga bwana (for sake guys please get shorter nick(ers) Wink ) is right. Things are really just around the corner here - Austria, Italy included. Mind you Fanzoj shop in Ljubljana has some weird working hours tho - however if needed be they can come forward - if you need help just ask...then there are others.

BTW - where and who with exactly are you hunting?

While end of October marks the beginning of the height of the hunting season I will be around and if it comes handy and if you happen to have some time to spare I wouldn't mind you buying me a pint...I'd buy you one back of course beer

This gorgeous destination just came up on my radar, as my cousin will be grilled by the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee on July 15 as the nominee to be the U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia. Boy, I'd love to go visit!

I was hunting in croatia this february for moufflon-ram. When I travelled through slovenia, I saw a lot of damage in the slovenian forests by snow!

Guys by all means you are all welcome to shoot me a PM when you will be around. I may help if needed and if time permits we can meet.

Since you are after Chamois - we had some threads regarding Chamois here in the past (some photos are missing but the essence is there):

Hello

We arrive into Munich, Germany on Sept 30 and we're heading to the Oktoberfest for a day or two.
We're then driving to Slovenia and hunting the first week of October.
