My better half will not usually go on hunts with me, but she is fascinated about Scotland and we agreed to go on a vacation there in the fall. It will probably be the week October 8th to 12th. We will probably be 5-6 days driving around. The hunt will just be a 2 night visit. Here`s the thing. She wants to stay in a castle or amazing estate with a wonderful garden and a view Wink She watches a lot of Downtown Abbey Smiler Even though I`m fine staying at a castle, the cost can`t be outragous.

Anyone know an amazing place where I can try for a stag. Don`t need a royal stag. Just want a beautiful scenery while hunting a mature animal Smiler I`m loaning a rifle since we are driving around for the rest of the trip. Don`t want the hazzle. The first thing she showed me was Inverlochy Castle, just to set the bar Wink I have a request from the people who hunt there, but want some more options Smiler

Thanks for the help!

Contact Mike McCrave Hunting. He has a nice stag hunt package with a great sight seeing opportunity for your spouse. Its a week long hunt. 2 stag and daily sight seeing trips. Total cost with food lodging (1850 hunting estate) is around $10,000 per couple. Beautiful place and nice people.

Thanks for the tip, but I was only looking for two days and one stag on the stag hunt. I would say that 10000 USD is the highest price I have seen, but of course it could be less when you only go for two days.

We are doing a roadtrip the rest of the trip. Seeing some countryside.

Ages ago I stalked twice (1990 & 1991) in Drimnin (Argyl).
The house, rather large but not a castle, needed renovation.
As far as I know the estate changed hands, but the new owner(s), according to their site, are offering accommodation and stalking.
The place is rather remote and you need a car to reach it.
Let me know wheter you succeed in finding the place, otherwise I'll send you a PM.

I have seen that price a lot but there are many options less expensive and you can shoot at least one stag a day (been my experience one stag and one cull). Ding Fallow Buck on here; I hunted with him a few years ago and it was a fraction of the amount. Granted, we stayed in a hotel, but it was a really cool place.

I also hunted near Loch Rannoch some years ago; more stags than my hunt with Kiri but you were not allowed to shoot the biggest one you saw. Stalking was the name of the game as well, whereas with Kiri if you see a stag at 350 and your stalker thinks you can shoot, you can have at it. I think we hunted two days on that trip because MsAZW had a hankerin' to climb the four highest peaks in England in one day and visit our good friends in Manchester. Last time we drove to Ben Nevis and climbed it; that was a cool thing to do, albeit even that isn't much of a mountain.

Not a castle, but a beautiful house, nonetheless.

I have shot there, (Pheasants), for the last twenty years.

Excellent hospitality, and an informal, relaxed atmosphere.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late reply. Whole family got the flu, been out for the better part of a week.
Thanks for the the suggestions.
I`m hoping Fallow Buck will chime in, but seems he is south of Edinburg, where we have been planning our trip north.
Mrs Svinejakt doesn not want to climb any mountains I believe, she`s more in the pampering mood now since we are having oyr first trip with out our son. She want to Relax Wink

Ofbiro: Loooking at the place you sent. Seems like a beautiful area. A bit of the treack we the better half talked about, but will for sure check it out Smiler
Thanks.
