windage is always a bigger problem for varmint shooters than is elevation. for quite a while now i have had a rule of thumb solution, which usually works pretty well. if i'm shooting a 223 or the like and have a 90 degree wind of 10 miles an hour (long grass is moving gently) i hold 1"/per 100 yds. a 45 degree reduces the hold by half. thus i hold 2"/100 for a 20 mile an hour,(leaves blowing and small brush moving) and 3" for a 30 mph (trees blowing) thus with a 10 mph at 200 it would be 4" etc. for a 45 deg. wind the values are halved and for a larger caliber like 243, 257 etc. they are halved. while not exact my any means, it does work for me in the field

Technically, a 45 degree wind is a 70 percent full value wind; a 30 degree wind (which is a wind from 7 or 5 oclock) is a one half value wind.
