I'm shooting one now and love it. It's a heavy mother, so keep this in mind when you are deciding how you will use it. Some things I learned about my rifle while working up loads for it: - It doesn't like 55gr Blitzkings. Didn't seem to stablize them quite enough. Not sure if other brands of 55gr bullets will work though, as I only tried the Blitzkings. - 50gr V-Max shot ok, but still wasn't how I thought a varmint rifle should perform (1-1.5" groups at 100yds. - The 50 gr Sierra Varminters shot extremely well for me (.4" groups @ 100yds and .7" groups @ 200yds). I haven't shot a groundhog with them yet, so I'm still curious how they will perform. I still want to try the 50gr Blitzkings due to their better ballistics and explosiveness, but haven't had the chance yet. - H380 worked well for me when I was developing a load, but my groups varied as the temp changed. I didn't like this, so I switched to using a more stable powder (IMR 4895). It shoots great with this powder. You may also try H4895. I've heard it is even more stable. - My best load to date is 36.0gr of IMR 4895 using the 50gr Sierra Varminters. Haven't put it on a chrony yet, but according to the books, it's supposedly pushing around 3800fps. Let me know if you have any specific questions. | |||
