Saw it on one of the "Swamp People" episodes. Comments?

I have killed numerous gators with 22WMR. It doesnt take much as the skull is very thin above the brain. I have used many calibers but the WMR worked fine so I stuck with it.

No reason a HMR wouldnt work, big calibers just mess up the skull, and due to overpenetration have a higher chance of pass thru and damage to the hide.

Are there any laws governing minimum caliber require for such a shot ?

I would love to take my 17HMR on my next African safari.

YUP the 17 will do anything the 22WMR will do if not more in terms of flatness
