| I have one in 6mm remington that will bump holes at 100 yds. with handloads. I think mine was made in the early 80's. I bought in new in the box. I think if the price is right you should try it.
Keep yer powder dry and yer knife sharp.

| I have a 1st year production 700 in 222 that is very, very accurate. I bought it used, the barrel shows some signs of neglect, but it still shoots tiny groups. |

| If the rifle is from the 80s it's probably quite accurate. This was Remington's hey-day for accurate varmint rifles. Even now, with a house full of varmint rifles I'd yank a good one up in a heartbeat. Best wishes. Cal - Montreal

| There's a very nice one in 25-06(God's gift to rifledom!) listed in the classifieds right now!!! I know the rifle(I shot it using old brass and my hastily put together loads to test it!) and the guy selling it and this one is a good example of what used to be out there!!!
