Ok, so what kind of sustained temperatures does it take to get fur prime enough to majke skinning a coyote worth the effort? ?

OK, I realize a TN "prime fur" is NEVER going to be like a Montana or Colorado prime but there has to be a minimum level to make it interesting to a fur buyer.

Will shoot, skin and stretch to buy more bullets!

The actual priming of the fur is not based so much on temperature as it is on the amount of daylight available to the coyotes eyes. Right now they should be about as good as they're gonna get. Maybe even a little fuzzy around the butt.

No rub marks or mange. Good skinning job and no large or extra large bullet holes. They are a stinking critter. They smell sorta like they have been eating buttholes outta dumpsters. The price of fur is supposed to be up. I have not gotten any this year so I would not know for sure. Eastern coyote is alledgedly around 30-50 bucks. Check with your local taxidermists. They usually will go top dollar for good hides. We were gettin $30.00 each for reds and $20.00 for greys(foxes) last year and that was unheard of. No skinning required we got rid of a bunch that way. They wont take ten but most will take two or three.
