Just a bit of trivia

The new Ruger "Hawkeye"

Does it have anything to do with Rugers' relationship with Callaway Golf when it was welding and fabricating Titanium Driver Heads for them?

Callaway did have the Warbird Big Bertha and Hawkeye models

Now work that one out ?

Ruger had a single shot pistol in the late 60's called the "hawkeye". It was marketed toward varmint hunters. My bet is that this pistol is a re-intro of the old one. They have a record of this -- blackhawk then new blackhawk, ect.
I don't think it has anything to do with golf.

Your right gents, I think it's more like Callaway Golf got the idea from the shooting industry not the otherway around

LOL, yeah, that's right.. ruger named a rifle after their failed pistol, not an american hunter/woodsman/folk hero....

The "Last of the Mohicans," by James Fenimore. At least that's where MASH's Hawkeye got his name. Lou

Of course it's Natty Bumpo !! thumb A fine man indeed ! But the 1826 can't be right ,try a little earlier .It's apparently written in 1826 but about an earlier time.
