I know Lloyd left the forum owing to ill health a year or two back. Does anyone know if he is still with us?

Well, ill health may have been a contributing factor, but the "Friends of Frank" who treated him like crap when he complained that dear old Frank was screwing him was the main factor. Based on some of his last communications to me, dear old Frank still owes him money from the sale of his goods.

We communicated by email not too long back, but it has been several months since I heard from him. Like you, I hope he is still above ground. A very smart and interesting man.

Well, I communicated with him. Sent him a bottle of whiskey which he wanted, and I am nearly certain he was not Ken Howell. So you're saying that Howell purchased and owned property under a false name in Arizona? Publish Howell's obit.

My, my, Dave. simmer down. I would like the truth on this as well.I have done beau coup of business with both Frank + Albert over the years.I know about the sales problems that he had with Frank as well as both of their failing healths. We actually care. Could you provide any evidence that Albert has passed? It would be good to know.

I would suggest that saying he is someone else entirely WITHOUT presenting one shred of evidence defiles his memory. In addition, I am not certain that AC is deceased.

Dave, are you sure? Alberta Canuck bought an old Marlin from me and the check was signed Lloyd DeVore, of Cave Creek, Arizona. We often chatted about his many years here in Oregon, including his memories of the gunwriter Francis Sell. I started this thread because I wanted him to know I finally have built Sell's wildcat, the .25-35 Tomcat.

I hope AC is alive, but don't know.

And.....as you said, AC lives(d)in Cave Creek, Az and Ken Howell lived in Quemado, NN.

I am sure he appreciates spreading all of his personal information on the net when that was NOT the topic de jour.

Guess now someone can attack me personally for no reason.
These ugly attacks seem to break out after hunting season is over and too early to scout for the next season

Where's the personal attack and personal information?

Someone queried if an admired forum member was still living.

Are members here as easily offended as the general American public? This idea that everyone has the right to be gravely offended about any issue and then loudly voice their opinion has spun out of control in this country. Check yourself friend.

I guess Dave Westbrook is MIA after his bitch slapping showing he was wrong about AC.

I usually don't comment on these things but when a poster says basically "F you to the group I'm right and you are wrong", with no proof and is later proven wrong, he should be called out and come clean.

If I am wrong, please correct me Dave.

Well that's good to know. After my post requesting Dave to provide proof, he PM'd me 3 times say he was right and I was basically a pot stirrer. He told me to call him for the facts and I responded it was a public forum, he made his accusations publicly and I didn't need to call him. He could post his reasons publicly. That didn't happen.

I was going to let it slide by until I saw Gato's post. Craigster is right, I'm not holding my breath but I will probably get some more nasty PM's. Oh well..

Lloyd was a gentlemen, there are not a lot of those on AR, so you tend to remember the nicer ones.

There are some crooks, quite a few assholes, some ok people, and some that I get a long with quite well more of the curmudgen veteran type, than a true gentlemen.

Frank offered to buy things and was not timely in paying for them. Not sure if he was busy, or bit off more than he could chew.

I used to sell quite a bit more on here, and got the silent treatment after offers to buy from Frank. So I used to put "for sale to anyone but Frank".

I searched online for a death notice or obituary and came up empty handed. Lloyd valued his privacy -- apparently to the end. I like to think he is slipping through the dense forests of the Oregon Coast Range he loved so much, sneaking up on a blacktail buck with an old Winchester.

I note that Wesbrook was on the forums for quite a while the other night. He could have wiped the shit off his face by simply saying he was mistaken and should not have said they were the same person without proof, which he obviously didn't have. But he didn't.

Just a little search of public records in Maricopa County reconfirms what Bill/Oregon and Gatogordo have stated. Lloyd Devore owned property/lived in Cave Creek, AZ.

(My post edited to indicate his first and last name, Lloyd Devore.)

Eleven adults with first name of Lloyd are currently living in Cave Creek and one is recently deceased, Lloyd George Devore.

A check of public records reveals Lloyd Devore's previous locations included Roseburg, OR and Scottsdale, AZ.

Alberta Canuck wrote of Roseburg in 62 posts on AR. He wrote of going to Roseburg gun shows, of Roseburg shooting matches, of Roseburg gunsmiths, and of going to the Roseburg Rod and Gun Club. All, several times.

In 31 posts he wrote of going to similar places and events in Scottsdale, AZ. In some posts he even wrote of having lived in Scottsdale.

On the other thread on Big Bore rifles re AC, Dave Westbrook finally admitted he was wrong. Took a long time for him to come to that conclusion.

I was the recipient of a number of pm"s from Dave saying he was right and I was wrong. Turns out that wasn't the case.
