I have never thought of getting a tatoo, but in reading that article it makes me wonder how so many folks on welfare can afford tatoos.

Not as high as I had thought, unless you get into the "artiste" category. Still, I agree that seeing someone on food stamps with full sleeves tends to ring alarm bells, especially if they are also buying cigarettes and have small kids.

Yeah, step daughter from a previous marriage wanted to do a tat of a tree on her back. I told her, just make sure that it does'nt go up on your arms or neck;someday you might want a good job. Also if you are gonna put a name on it;NEVER put a woman's name on it,unless it's Mom;that's the only one that never changes.

I see a lot of tattoos, some of them downright cringeworthy. They don't seem to appear at the bank, much.
On the other hand, it's been awhile since the last thread on tattoos, when "Navy Vet" expounded on the subject...

You got to look at it as an art form. I’ve got a couple and they have their own stories for another topic. My daughter was in high school and not really into school. I told her to not stop with high school and learn a trade that she enjoyed. Whether it was college, trade school, or military. She was alway artistically gifted. She choose to learn tattooing. That said, she been at it for 10 years and makes 6 figures and all cash. She has yet to ink me, but I told her to design something for me around my personality and likes (hope she doesn’t draw an asshole).

That being said, it’s for some and not for others. I will probably wear what she designs as she has developed a great following and is able to travel and practice her craft. No my fist choice for a profession but she is doing well. If anyone decides to get a tattoo, get one from a real artist.

My eldest son is a great artist, really! He has been doing tats since he was in high school(on the side) + he's 40 now. When he was in H.S. I heard some noise coming from the utility room;when I entered,he had a line of his high school buddies lined up for a tat.I told those young men who usually came over to eat my venison chili that you never got it here.I also set him up with an NGraver set up + he does great work on firearms engraving. His down side on this is that he really is so good that he can't believe that everyone can't do this so he just gives it away.

They all seem to have a high dollar cel phone as well. That I can explain. Look at the back of your phone bill + you will see (among every other charge) one called a Universal charge. This is a charge to finance free cel. phones for welfare recipients. My info came from the National Revue magazine.

I remember quite a few years back being in a nice restaurant in Reno. It just so happened we were looking right at the back of a young woman who was a little heavy and quite drunk. There was quite a bit of skin exposed between her shirt and low rider pants exposing a larger tattoo running across her waistline. My friend and I both noticed this and we could not help but speculate what that tat would look like in 20 years particularly if she continued to grow larger. I have to believe a lot of the people getting tattooed give very little thought to the long term effects of these permanent disfigurements.

Met a fine looking gal at a party.
Brought her home for an all night of
fun n games.

When she got naked, she was covered
with ink. "put your clothes back on,
that shit turned me off!"
she got so upset and bitch mouthed I refused
to even take her back home or the party. Just
showed her the door: "you have a phone, call for a ride but, do it outside!"

Totally turns me away from folks with more than a small one or two. Some are cute, like a broken heart on a tit or such. YUCK!

The number, and size of tattoo on a person, tells me his lack of brains! clap

Reminds me of the newly wed man on his honeymoon in Jamaica.

He loved his new wife so much he had her name tattooed on his dick.

Her name was Wendy.

He went to the bathroom, and right next to him was standing a great big Jamaican.

The man has never seen another man's dick, so he thought he will take a peak at his neighbor.

He saw two letters tattooed on the other man's dick.

WY.

He was amazed!

He could not help to ask.

"Ah you have a wife called Wendy too? Just like me?"

"What are you on man?"

"Look, I got her name tattooed on my dick just like you"

"Mine says WELCOME TO JAMAICA AMD HAVE A VERY NICE DAY!"

I heard it as one guy looks over and sees an "S" and an "E" and asks what does it say.

The guy responds - name of my restaurant "Sam's Cafe"

The guy looks back and says I see you have an "S" and an "E" also. Is it the name of your restaurant?

First guy replies indeed it is:

"Shorty's Bar and Grille, Chattanooga Tennessee"

Legistine actu quod scripsi?

Never under estimate the internet community's ability to reply to your post with their personal rant about their tangentially related, single occurrence issue.

What I have learned on AR, since 2001:
1. The proper answer to: Where is the best place in town to get a steak dinner? is…You should go to Mel's Diner and get the fried chicken.
2. Big game animals can tell the difference between .015 of an inch in diameter, 15 grains of bullet weight, and 150 fps.
3. There is a difference in the performance of two identical projectiles launched at the same velocity if they came from different cartridges.
4. While a double rifle is the perfect DGR, every 375HH bolt gun needs to be modified to carry at least 5 down.
5. While a floor plate and detachable box magazine both use a mechanical latch, only the floor plate latch is reliable. Disregard the fact that every modern military rifle uses a detachable box magazine.
6. The Remington 700 is unreliable regardless of the fact it is the basis of the USMC M40 sniper rifle for 40+ years with no changes to the receiver or extractor and is the choice of more military and law enforcement sniper units than any other rifle.
7. PF actions are not suitable for a DGR and it is irrelevant that the M1, M14, M16, & AK47 which were designed for hunting men that can shoot back are all PF actions.
8. 95 deg F in Africa is different than 95 deg F in TX or CA and that is why you must worry about ammunition temperature in Africa (even though most safaris take place in winter) but not in TX or in CA.
9. The size of a ding in a gun's finish doesn't matter, what matters is whether it’s a safe ding or not.
10. 1 in a row is a trend, 2 in a row is statistically significant, and 3 in a row is an irrefutable fact.
11. Never buy a WSM or RCM cartridge for a safari rifle or your go to rifle in the USA because if they lose your ammo you can't find replacement ammo but don't worry 280 Rem, 338-06, 35 Whelen, and all Weatherby cartridges abound in Africa and back country stores.
12. A well hit animal can run 75 yds. in the open and suddenly drop with no initial blood trail, but the one I shot from 200 yds. away that ran 10 yds. and disappeared into a thicket and was not found was lost because the bullet penciled thru. I am 100% certain of this even though I have no physical evidence.
13. A 300 Win Mag is a 500 yard elk cartridge but a 308 Win is not a 300 yard elk cartridge even though the same bullet is travelling at the same velocity at those respective distances.

Not at all.

But anyone who covers his whole body with silly tattoos has something wrong with him - mentally!

I have no problem with anyone doing anything to their own body, but it does look rather silly to me.

In fact, as far as I am concerned, anything drastic one does to his or her body for cosmetic reasons is rather stupid.

I read the other day that a lawyer in Australia, went to Russia to have bones broken in her body so they can make her taller!

That really takes the cake. clap

Well I had an aunt back in the 50's that had her little toe cut off so she could continue to wear those high heel ,thin toe shoes that were so popular then. All they really did was accentuate the calf muscles + draw wolf whistles. But who am I to complain? Women are slaves to fashion + I seem to be a slave to the female form. What wicked chains indeed.

Permanent reminder of a temporary lack of judgement...

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.

That used to be fashionable in some Asian countries, for the girls to be taller, maybe still is so.

It disgusts me for someone to profess to be Christian yet have lots of tattoos. The Bible forbids it. I know one individual who is an ordained minister with tats on his calves.

If you have ever worked in law enforcement you can easily identify prison tats from civilian tats. I doubt anyone in prison ever considered that or cared.
