The Conan Doyle novel, The Valley of Fear, is my favorite Sherlock Holmes story. Has this novel ever been rendered as a talking motion picture?

A search came up with an animated version, likely not what you hoped for.

There are several movies called valley of fear but not the same plot.

You are correct - close but no cigar. I also found one, not right, in Internet archive from the early 1930s.

No + for those of us Sherlockians we find all the totally twisted stories of the Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce era an affrontery. The best Holmes so far IMO is Jeremy Brett. They actually followed the story line.Admirable, but not effective to do a novel length program.

Never mistake motion for action.
