The Conan Doyle novel, The Valley of Fear, is my favorite Sherlock Holmes story. Has this novel ever been rendered as a talking motion picture? It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don't say it. Sam Levinson

A search came up with an animated version, likely not what you hoped for. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0238597/ There are several movies called valley of fear but not the same plot. Mark

Mark: You are correct - close but no cigar. I also found one, not right, in Internet archive from the early 1930s. It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don't say it. Sam Levinson

No + for those of us Sherlockians we find all the totally twisted stories of the Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce era an affrontery. The best Holmes so far IMO is Jeremy Brett. They actually followed the story line.Admirable, but not effective to do a novel length program. Never mistake motion for action.
